I have decided to build my own but am not sure of the lock mechanics. I would also like to know if there are any resources that would have a good variety of styles since I can't seem to settle on a design. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

There are very few designs, the makers of matchlocks were very conservative.

Allow me to speculate

Henry VIII - All snappers
Elizabeth I - Military get lever action
Charles I - Military use trigger action
Anne - Gone

When they asked the chap holding the fabulous Dresden civilian matchlock collection to detail more mechanisms, he replied, "No point, they are all the same". Then the city received an early experiment with Napalm and whether they were all the same or not became moot.

There are a couple of old drawings of castle sieges showing "one moving part" actions. If you want to believe they were real and make one, why not. After all, this is supposed to be fun :hatsoff:

Find Bolek Maciaszczyk on this forum or facebook. He is the best of the best. I follow him on facebook and he is a master. He will help you. He is going to build a museum quality puffer wheellock for me for around 2900. in June. He is always sending guy's pics and drawing's of museum pieces on match and wheel types. He lives in Poland and specks some English. If you order parts he does have a list ahead of you. He restores museum guns from around the world. I think he quoted me like 9 months on a complete gun, parts may be sooner.

I purchased two non-snapping matchlocks from M. Sikligar in India and they were very nicely mirror finished. One worked flawlessly and the other required minor tweaking. I could not begin to build one for the very reasonable cost of the two finished locks.

I have since purchased two percussion locks from the same maker. Not the best, but well worth what they cost.

Thanks zimmerstutzen I just went to the webpage and love the snap-matchlock. I send a email to them.
