That's really neat and the article was very informative. It was also good to see at least one clear photo of the lock area of the gun. It is almost certainly an antique as opposed to one made up by the studio as a prop. Thanks for sharing.
 
When I remember way back then, I can still remember the claim by many that the gun was electrically fired since no flintlock could be counted on to fire when you needed it to...what horse pucky, but that's what the general public actually believed!
 
Is it me, or are the lines of the Pedersoli Pennsylvania/Kentucky/Alamo rifles not reminiscent of that rifle?

I bought a late Lancaster off of GB a few years ago with silver and brass wire inlay throughout that has the initials "F P" in wire on the lower butt stock. It's a conteporary build GR Douglas 42" 40 cal. I've always wondered if it could have possibly been a Fess Parker gun.
