I know that when using conical type bullets in some guns they have a fairly loose fit, I was just wondering if using some type of Bore Button or wad over the bullet to help hold it in place would be like a barrel obstruction or if not, would it affect accuracy at all. Just a question, and was wondering if anybody has ever done this, or if anybody would have any thoughts on it. Thanks

Wouldn't be an obstruction, but it would be an obstical that the bullet has to pass at some point past the muzzle. :hmm: Might prevent the conical from being the obstruction. A thin one from cereal box thickness cardboard probably would be enough without being more problem than worth (that's what shot loads use).

Shoot patched balls and be worry free.

Unless you do a lot of walking with your barrel pointing down or if you drop your rifle, I don't think you have to worry about your bullet slipping forward.
Through the course of a day in the woods you could periodically check to see if your bullet is seated on the powder. Just be sure to remove the percussion cap or priming powder before you do.
I have seated loose conicals like the Lee REAL and tried to get it to slide up by shaking the rifle muzzle down and also by tapping it on a log. The bullet didn't move.
