I've been considering one of these for a while now. My state has a 36 caliber or under restriction for hunting small game with muzzleloaders. Not many 36cal models still being made or found used even, as far as .32cal rifles I like, it's either this or the Pedersoli Scout Carbine .32, which I do love the full stock look it has and the shorter length barrel.

The Crockett seems to be a bit long at 49" OAL, how do you guys find it's balance and performance, are you okay with the length?
I love mine the balance is great! I sold the one I had years ago and just recently purchased another one. It’s actually better then I remember, a little work and they can look really nice. Though Iv never had a pedersoli scout I will say you don’t hear to many ppl saying that the Crockett doesn’t shoot, most of the time it’s the total opposite it shoots lights out. I really don’t think you can go wrong with them.

Sounds like I might be going this route. Much easier than looking around for a used TC Seneca or Cherokee in .36cal

I like the Pedersoli Scout in .32 also but it's near ~$1000 new, it's a nice length carbine and has a full stock, which I prefer sometimes. But a Crockett with less than half the cost, that performs as well as what everyone is saying sounds good to me
Pedersoli makes a great rifle but I feel their prices aren't sustainable in our BP market. They are not so great that I'm going to wait mo.'s for one and besides there's a lot of nice used rifles coming on the market now. IMO

I've got a cva mt. rifle with a standard size 15/16 x 32 barrel in .36. It's a steady holder, as long as you can hold it. Does get a little heavy after a few hours in the woods tho.
That has to be an aftermarket barrel, right? Never ever heard of a CVA Mountain Rifle in .36 caliber, but I sure would want one.

You can make em look old and worn and no one will know it’s a Crockett 😉

Yep, someone made it to fit. I picked it up 15 ish years ago at a estate auction. A friend of the guy that passed told me it was a douglas barrel but i couldn't say one way or the other. It has no markings at all.
