Where have you guys found is the best (least expensive) place to buy percussion caps? Most of my sources (Midway, MidSouth Shooters Supply) are generally about $36 to $40 per 1000, not including shipping and Hazmat. :shocked2:

I buy them retail, no hazmat fee and pay in the range you stated.

what works best for me is to put these on my christmas and birthday wish list. Junior always comes thru! xmas, birthday and fathers day

(3000 a year!)

Hadn't realized caps had gotten that high...3.5-to 4 cents a shot...last caps I bought were a couple thousand CCI#11 mags when they came out back in the early 90's...$19.95/1000 as I recall...still got most of them...cans are sealed with electrician's tape and stored in ziploc bags.

I'm fortunate to have a local gunstore, local meaning within fifty miles, which stocks most of my shooting and reloading needs. I have an FFL and can order from wholesale distributors but with the hazmat and shipping fees I'd have to order 5000 at a time to beat the retail price, and then not by much.

I get Remington #11 caps retail for $3.99 per 100. I get them from Wally World, Sportsmans Warehouse, Dicks Sporting Goods, all for the same $.

The cheapest now days is a Tap-Cap from Foresters. When I started they were one cent, now four cents. Dilly

Or figure out just how that Chinese guy in Muzzleloader Magazine managed to fire his percussion gun without caps by dropping the hammer on plain old powder. At least that is what the article implied.
