Lubing patches with "Wonder Lube"

I use Ox-Yoke's pre-lubed "Wonder Ticking" patches. Having a little tub of Wonder Lube and some unlubed pillow ticking patches, I decided to lube up a batch. Put some Wonder Lube in a pan, heated it on the stove until liwuid, droped in the patches letting them soak up the lube, squeezed out excess (and patted dry on paper towels, just like little fried green tomatoes :. The patches look exactly like the store-bought pre-lubed version. However, on another thread about Stumpy's Moose Snot patches, it was stated that too much lube is adverse to accuracy :shocking:. Did I lube the patches correctly? :hmm:

That's how I lube mine.
My GPR is a tack driver shooting PRB with those patches.
Adverse effect on accuracy? I think not.
Someone on here did an experiment if I remember correctly where they used an enormous patch, way bigger than standard and soaked it with lube to see what would happen to accuracy. They reported no difference in accuracy.

What load are you using? I'm using 100-110 grains Goex 2f or 90 gr Black Mag 3, said patch and .530 ball (don't know if I could ram a .535 down with .18 patch!).

Hey Bob, I usually lube a strip of patches at a time, then cut the individual patches when I'm done. I hang a strip of patches, apply the lube generously, scrape the excess off with my patch knife (like sharpening a razor on a strap). When I'm done, there is just enough lube on the patch and when you hold it up to the light, nothing shines thru. Good Luck :m2c:
