Say for instance you want to lube your shooting patches with mink oil, do you lube both sides? Thanks for any replies.

I was curious about this myself. The pre-lubed patches seem to lead to an exorbitant amount of fouling. Might start doing this and letting them sit overnight prior to shooting.

I make my own lubes with beeswax and an oil. (currently whale or peanut) It is made into bars that I rub onto large pieces of my patching material on one side only. That goes into a plastic zip lock bag. When needed I tear off a strip and use. Lubing the side that goes on the ball is a waste and accomplishes nothing. Soaking is equally pointless and wasteful. In fact it can make the patch so heavy it will travel a long distance before falling away. I have pulled patches out of the target at 25 yards. :shocked2:
