Nice job on the rifle. I kinda of like the woodgrain in the first stock. I know how much work is involved. I built 2 tc .50 cal. hawkins back in the early 80's. Nothing was finished on those kits other than the locks. I had about 40 hrs in each rifle,killed a lot of deer with it.

Since your freshly done with your GPR, what would say was the hardest part of doing the work of putting it toghether?

If you have any tips for things NOT to do they'd be appreciated. Like I said, I'm headed for the Cap version. Right now I'm wondering about the barrel pin's or wedges?

Some of my comments on building it you can find under the post in the photos section called "Finished GPR".

The kit did not come with any finishes for the metal or the wood. I used tru-oil and linseed oil for the wood and I sent the metal out for finishing.

Good luck on the kit, they have the potential to really look nice.
