Lyman GPR Lock troubles

Have you pulled the lock and checked the first cock notch, trigger sear engagement, to see if it is working properly, no broken chunks, cut in the right place, not altered, ect.

Jason K it doesn't look like you have the cock on half-cock. If you don't, what you see is normal. If it is on half-cock, there is something mechanically wrong. Send it to Lyman.
This is half-cock of one of my GPR unmodified locks. It has the same flint in it as you are using. It has the notch cut in the back of the leather flint wrap, also.

BTW, after you get the lock squared away, we'll discuss how to make the touch hole better.
 
It is on half cock..I will get ahold of lyman today.And see what they say about it.
 
I use deer hide also.No problems there.I keep the long side of the flint up to get as much striking surface on the frizzen as possible.No more than 1/16 between frizzen and flint.Mine looks like ebiggs high strike.
