How many manufacturers were there and how can I tell who made my GPR? It is a .54 Cal Flintlock.

Lyman has had a partnership with Investarm to produce their rifles for many years. Like Gkarp429 said, Pedersoli is now making them for Lyman. Plus price went up if you can find one.

If it was made by Investarm it will be stamped on the barrel with Cal. 54 then a bordered I then it will have Made in Italy over Black Powder Only all on the left side along with all the legal garbage that has to be stamped on the barrel. If none of this is on the barrel you may not have a Lyman GPR or the barrel has been replaced with a custom barrel. It may have been defarbed if their are no markings at all.

You can post a photo and it will give us a better idea of the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info. SInce I bought the Tennessee rifle I have been considering selling my GPR. I like the rifle but I will probably never shoot it now that I have the new rifle. I was curious about who manufactured them for Lyman over the years. Again thanks I am learning a lot.

It will prob sell quickly if priced fairly. If it were me I would keep it particularly in .54. It's a great rifle, a great highly regarded caliber and the prices are going up. Plus, two rifles is better 'cause you get twice the fun. Better than two wives! 😂
