Thinking about buying another lyman great plains flint kit, ive built a few through the years, but the urge has hit me again, does anyone know who has the best price on a .54 flint kit now?

That kit has been out of stock since April at Impact Guns. I finally canceled my order in July.
Mike
PS: they will ship muzzle loading arms to your house.

I recently heard some horror stories about buffalo arms orders. Wrong things shipped, and what you ordered is always on backorder, then comes in at a higher price.

Best price I've found is Midsouth Shooters Supply. They tell you if it's in stock and they ship right away. I've never had a single problem with them.

"Midsouth will not ship to a home or business in Illinois not holding an FFL."
That sucks. What is their reason for this?

Illinois has the most restrictive gun laws. We all know why right??
Vote accordingly

Thanks for the link, Jerry...I checked out their site....good prices! I have yet to check out whether they kowtow to Illnois' stupid gun restrictions.
"Just Say NO in November!"
Bloody idiots!

Just a reminder.
This is the Gun Builders Bench where we discuss the many facets of building guns.

I urge folks to stick to issues that deal with building please.

I ordered the gpr kit from impact last night and they told me tops a one month wait, just for kicks i called this morning they said 2 to 3 months

Sounds like the 2 Jaeger barrels I ordered in May of 2006 :rotf: :rotf: Must be a slight delay in production.... but anticipating their arrival any day now.........

:bull:

So....who do you trust these days? Do you go with one of the better-known companies and spend hundreds more? For me, that's the difference between buying and dreaming.
On the other hand, I've got better things to do with my money than let somebody else hold it hostage for three months.
Even well-known companies like Track Of The Wolf have many of their barrels on "indefinite" back order.
I'm discouraged now. :shake:
