Find a good used one & buy it, tear it apart, refinish it, put it back together. Basically that is what you are doing with the kit anyway, as the rifle is built, you are just assembling it.

They are in the classifieds of this site all the time at reasonable prices.

Btrddog6, thats exactly what I did. Bought a used .54GPR with some lock and stock issues. A few hours of work and less than $20 for some parts solved the problems and I had a good first flintlock.

Don't count out MidwayUSA either... Especially if you hold an 03 FFL... Gets you "dealer" pricing... Well worth the $30 an 03 costs you for a 3 year license...

Looks like Midway has them in stock also...
 
I started this topic on 10-11 and low and behold i recieved the GPR.54 FLINT kit today from midsouth for $317 would you believe, so anybody that is interested better get thier order in while there in stock :surrender:
 
Iam so sorry guys, it was (Impact guns)not midsouth, i had midsouth on my mind cause i just ordered from them. :bow: :redface:
