I am looking to buy a rifle soon soon, in particular a Lyman Trade Rifle. I would like a flinlock, but LTRs with flint ignition are hard to find. Does anyone know if there is a flintlock that will interchange with the Lyman percussion lock? It would be nice to use the same gun for both. I went to Lymnan's website but they only sell individual lock parts. It's really expensive to buy all the individual parts. This is probably a wild goose chase, but I would be grateful for any input.

Thank you for the suggestion but I prefer the Trade Rifle as I will also be using it for reenacting. I am only looking for an interchangeable lock but I am not sure if one is even made.

The lock would interchange but you would also hae to change the barrel.

Lyman flint locks are available here:

They run $120.00. Thing is, if you start with a percussion trade rifle, the percussion breech will be in the way of converting to Flintlock. If you want a gun that can be changed from flint to cap, better off to start with a flint. Then a drum and nipple can be screwed in to convert to cap.

Given how cheap Lyman Plains rifles are used wouldn't it be easier, and just about as cheap to just buy one of each?

You might check Track of the Wolf. I know they have replacement L&R locks. Got one for my GPR but has to be inlet to fit.
I do have a TC 54 that is interchangable all I have to do is pull the wedge change the barrel either to flint or percussion and change the lock and away I go. Works very slick. You will have to go with a flint and percussion barrel and locks. My flint barrel is a Green Mountain and percussion is a TC.

I know it has been a while, but I finally took your advice and bought a LTR flintlock. I have a few other things to buy first but I will get a percussion lock for this gun also, that is unless I am having so much fun with the flintlock that I don't care about going percussion again, lol. Thank you for the advice roklok.
