Some days the fire is pine others it's sagebrush once in a blue moon I get River Birch or quakies. Don't have much in the way of hard wood here if things get really tight I sneak into a pen of bison and collect chips but they can be onery so I try to avoid that route. I have a half dead grill or a small propane torch if I want to use gas. Some day I'll get a pot of some kind to do it in but for now I'm limited to my ladle, it melts pretty quick in there so it's not horrible
