How large i(diameter) it casts, how well it fits your rifle's bore, and rate of twist will likely make all the difference in the world in how accurate it is. Additionally, I suspect that bullet will do better in fast twist bbl's, especially those found on rifles we can't discuss here.

Ok I am going to give them a try. I cast some of these bullets with some pure lead. They dropped out of the mold at .510 diameter. I am pan lubing them with 50% / 50% beeswax and Crisco They will fit pretty tight in my bore so I have high hopes. I will start with 70 grns of 2f Goex.

I've found bullets of that general proportion (diameter versus length) to be finicky when they have to get kicked from behind to fill the rifling. I think maybe that the smaller the diameter then the more they benefit from the inertia that length provides. That's just my best guesses until further experience changes my mind.

if they dont shoot well in your rifle, try using a wad under the bullet. Might make a big difference for you.

I finally got to the range to try them out and my results were ok. I would say not awful but not great either. Below is a picture of a group I shot from my TC renegade using 70grns of Goex 2f at 50 yards. By the 5th shot they were getting very difficult to load and I was swabbing between shots. I bumped the charge up to 80grns and things went south fast. Swiched back to Pached RB and shot a sub 2" group so I will stick with the RB loads

Bob, What level of ease (or difficulty) did you encounter when loading the first Gr. Pl. bullet? I.e., did it practically slide down the bbl. of its own weight or not as that can affect accuracy.* Btw, fleener's suggestion about an over powder wad is an excellent one, as it really is worth using. Lastly, sometimes the kind of bullet lube used can produce poor accuracy as well.

*If too small, it can be fixed by "beagling" the mold (Google beagling). If too large, you'll need a custom made sizing die, which isn't nearly as expensive as it sounds. For example, Ammohead on the Cast Boolits site does that sort of thing.

They fit down the bore snugly. I had to kind of tamp them down to get them down to the powder. I agree a wad would probably help maybe another time. The PRB shoot so well and will get the job done on deer so that is what I think I will stick with.
