Made a good score on Speer round balls today.

Yep. That price included shipping, and works out to less than $3 per pound.
That's cheaper than I can find for buying raw lead.
I don't score deals like that every day.

That's a good deal. Congrats. Although I have the molds and lead to cast my own I always keep an eye open for sales, at gun shows and even garage sales. Unless you compete in some ML competition, 100 round balls will last a while. I built up a supply to feed my hobby (*cough addiction *) and so I can be generous to other shooters if needed.

I got a surprise the other day, I was shooting my beck rifle testing out a new peep sight I made to aid my 73 year old eyes. I started looking for my .530 balls, I found one bag of 6 or 7 and that was all. I was sure I cast over 100 at my last session but they were nowhere to be found and I looked in all my shooting boxes.

Just got a new hip last Wednesday so I won't be casting any time soon. I better go look again, I don't like to be without ammo.

The peep worked exceptionally well, at least for 6 or 7 shots.

For me, winter time is casting bullets time. But my winters are colder than your winters. Cold, rainy or snowy days are great for making roundball.
