Hi all. I was out of town this weekend, and stopped at a local hunting shop to take a look around.I noticed a nice used flintlock on the rack, and went to take a look at it. It was a fullstock long rifle a bit shortere than the pennsylvania next to it,but it seemed longer than my brothers kentucky. Looking at the stampings on the barrel it was .45 and made in Marokiu,(sp?)Japan. I couldn't tell what company sold them. I'd never heard of any company selling muzzleloaders that are made in Japan. It made me curious so i thought i'd see if anyone here knew anything about it.

Miroku is actually the name of the company that made the rifle. They produce very good quality arms, in fact they made the Citori model O/U shotguns, & a number of the Lever Action rifles for Browning & Winchester.

Hey thanks alot. Feel kinda silly about my mistake with the name. It was a very nice looking rifle. Kinda wish i'd had the $$ to pick it up only $250

That is the company that made the Tenn. Mt. rifle for Dixie Gun Works in the early 80s. I bought one in 1980 and love it. B. P.

Yep, I had one of those also and wish I'd kept it. Those early models with the 7/8" barrel were much nicer handling than the later version with 15/16" barrels.

Now i wish i'd given it a closer look. Hmmm maybe it'll still be there in a couple weeks when i'm down that way next..I must say it was really nice to handle, and a lot lighter than i thought it'd be. I tried doingsome searching on the web and couldn't find much of anythig about it.

I have an unfired Miroku Kentucky Percussion Rifle that was imported by Ultra-Hi Products Co.
The original box appears to date back to the 70's or 80's at least. I noticed that the rifling has very wide lands compared to the grooves, and its factory blue barrel has a high polished lustre to it.
I also have a Miroku kentucky percussion pistol kit gun without any other identifying markings on it. Both are .45 caliber with the same wide lands in the barrel, the same lock and very low brass front sight.
