The idea is to take one of those Lyman #445599 molds (there's bunches of them floating around and nobody much wants one) and take out the lube grooves while increasing the as-cast diameter to work in a .50 caliber with paper patches. I figger the weight would go over 300 grains. The skirt would be thickened up to withstand heavier powder charges and seal of the grooves in the variety of typical 48" twist barrels.
So OK I've got one to work with. And then it occurred to me, hmm...
How much, how deep of a hollow base might be best. It's gonna need some significant cavity back there not just to seal off but to make it nose heavy for 48" rifling.
