This is a little project I just finished. It is pigskin dyed with rit berries marron w/a touch of black. All hand stiched with waxed linen thread and a coat of mink oil to keep the water out. It 15" X 5" just right for belt.

That's great work. I saw a guy wearing one of these at my local range not too long ago and have been wanting to make one myself. Are these bags known by any other name? Your's is the only post that I have been able to find of this kind of bag. Are these colonial era? Fur trade/mountain man era?

Best regards,

Simon

I saw one of these (orig) from Ma in 1600's in museum, I beleive old Sturbridge was a gift from native to a white man. I will see if I have link to it and post if I can find it. I have seen others people made (modern). They use to hold balls, fire starting stuff, Money, Cards, etc is what I carry in another that I have. I get a lot of positive comments on it. Thought I would try a couple of other looks.
