found old mold i had for a while its a maxi mold . no identification, aluminum block fits old Lyman handles and pours a bullet .884 long and .496 across and .395 in bottom of grease groves average bullet weight 362 gr. i am wondering should the things be resized before shooting in 50 cal they go but dont mike to be perfectly round .

That's way huge for a 45, so I'm betting it's a 50. At .496 it would be a snug fit going down the bore, with the expectation that it would upset and fill the grooves on firing.

yep thanks brownbear its got to be a 50 cal after i checked it in barrel but it is going have to swell to get a seal like you said guess i will shoot a few in gpr and see how they fly

Crossticks: Put a OP wad behind that Conical, or use a filler between the powder and the bullet, to protect the base. The soft Lead bullet will upset and fill the grooves of the barrel, but How Consistently Quick it does so, determines the accuracy( groups size you get.) As BrownBear has noted, if you use a OP Wad or filler, groups drop in half, compared to firing the conicals bare. Those stepped bullets with the top " driving " band being groove diameter, so that you have to score the band with the lands of the barrel as its loaded at the muzzle are very accurate.
