I'm Mike located in Wiltshire in the UK I buy muzzle loaders from time to time, I would like to share some of rifles I buy at country sales and auctions. They tend to be relic wall hangers, any tips and advice would be gratefully accepted. My current rifle of interest is a flintlock Fowler, barrel length 51 1/2 inches overall length 67 3/4 inches the barrel has been attached to the stock by what appears leather straps wrapped hide. After first impressions, I will post pictures.

First advice is to get a tin of Renaissance Wax (made in your kingdom). Excellent for stabalizing and maintaining old firearms. New ones too, for that matter.
