This medium-size horn has a screw-tip spout. I use violin pegs for spout plugs as the are tapered and fit better. The base plug is curly maple and held in with wood pegs. The walnut-stained hemp strap is secured in the base with a forged iron staple. The strap is 47.5” now but can be extended another 5”. I am 5’ 10” tall and it hangs at my waist. I think it is better as right side usage but the curve is not too deep that it could work left side also. It holds just under 1/2 pound (7.8 oz) of powder.
