I have a 32 cal Pedersoil penn long rifle, been using a black fiberglass for a range rod. Have been thinking about getting a metal rod and trying
it ,anybody using them and having better luck with them?

I make my own range rods, using stainless steel rod. I use a brass muzzle guide to protect the muzzle. But for the 32 cal. you can just buy a nice one piece stainless cleaning rod and buy a guide for it. The cleaning rods, are fairly long, but I don't know, what length you'll need for your rifle. My 32 is a Cherokee, with short barrel.

There are many metal ram rods in use. Some use brass, solid or tubing. Others like stainless steel or just plain steel. I have some I made in soft steel and they rust almost instantly. Cold rolled doesn't rust as quickly. But, no matter, at the range you should use a bore protector. These are available from all vendors in plastic and brass. I have even made them from wood.
