I think you'll like Michigan. I'm not sure about the Detroit area any more, but there is a Cabella's not far from Detroit and a full-time black powder shop, Kenockee Trading Post, not too far North of Detroit. Michigan's gun laws are fairly reasonable. We have lots of wild game and fine trout streams. Muzzle Blasts lists a couple of clubs in the general area. Southeast Michigan, where Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan lurk, is full of soccer moms and soccer dads who are scared of guns. :boohoo: If you can find employment in Grand Rapids or somewhere on the west side of the state, you may feel more welcome as a hunter and shooter. :haha: You can hunt small game and deer during the regular seasons with black powder guns. We have a special black powder season, but in-lines and scopes are legal. Our license to carry concealed is "shall issue" and I'm still waiting for the gunfights the liberals said this would produce. Hope you come. graybeard
