Greetings to all forum members. I look forward to learning more about traditional methods, shooting, maintaining, and hunting with my 45 cal. percussion rifle.
Welcome TCCherokee. I too came this forum to learn of such things, but it seems traditional methods are for "old folks" and around here they use motor oil, synthetic break fluid, Windex, air compressors, something called Steam Cleaners and Dish Washers (I think them might be those TidePod eaters we been hearing about). They even glue their flint leather to the flint...I kid you not!
But there is plenty to learn about sending down a dry ball so you can practice removing (I hear they use a "Grease Gun" for that, but still trying to figure out which caliber??). But so far no one had mentioned using pleather, velcro, snaps, or polyester.....oops, best not give them youngsters any ideas!!

But welcome to the forum, and Yes, there are some of us 'traditionist' still hanging in and kicking...but ya might need a magnifying glass to find us (we apparently are called "dogmas" these days, everyone else is obsessed with re-inventing the wheel...I mean muzzleloader...not sure if some know the difference)
