I've been watching Midway USA's Gun Stories on the Outdoor Channel for a few weeks now. While they cover the gamut of guns and artillery, they've had some good episodes on pre 1865 firearms and "technology." In fact, when I looked up their website, the first picture you see is the host, Joe Mantegna shooting a flintlock! Cool!

I watched a series they have on ignition systems which covered that entire history, and mostly focused on pre-percussion systems. Also watched one on the history of COLT firearms which had a lot of good background on black powder revolvers. The new series is the topic Guns of the Civil War. This week is Guns of the Union and next week is Guns of the Confederacy.

Until I took up muzzleloading I had a very low interest in guns, and still do when it comes to "modern" guns, but all of these shows are interesting to me no matter the type of gun being discussed. If you haven't watched it and have the Outdoor Channel, you might find this interesting too.
