Well I went and done it, I got it wet and it shrunk! :youcrazy: :rotf: :rotf:
Seriously I was wanting a bag to put my fire striker and flints in. As I started to cut out the split leather I used to make it an idea hit me! It wouldn't take all that much more to make a minature Possibles Bag!

I decdied I wanted to put a real beaver's tail on it sorta!

That is a quarter laying on top of it to give an idea of the demensions of the bag!

Now all I have do is come up with a small container to put my charcloth in. The white cloth the stiker and flints are on and is all cotton.

Quite by accident I found out it would make good char cloth. I had used it on a bench to cushion something I was working on and an area got charred by heat gun.
I was cutting some metal later with a grinder. It was hot in the shop so had a fan running. I smelled something burning, I walked outside and looked around and was quite surprised when I stepped back inside to find the fire on my work bench. :shocked2:  Wow, charcloth, now all I got to do is char it and find me a container!

very nice that looks real good cliff, but you should be ashamed for that little beaver you killed just for that tiny tail :rotf: :rotf:

Cliff,
Your little beaver tailed bag looks good! Have you ever tried charcloth made from an old 100% cotton T-shirt? Great stuff! I char mine in an old Bandaid tin box. For a container for the charcloth just go to the candy counter at your local drug store and there are all types of mint and candy tin containers available. When empty, just sand or burn the paint off...varnish and you have a nifty charcloth box to go into your bag! :hmm:

Ashamed, :shocked2: why them little one's is the hardest ones to hang on to, :shake: :blah: besides you can only harvest them on a Blue Moon night! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Yeah like I need anymore candy after Halloween, bought four bags of candy and not one trick or treater. :barf: I've eat enough now that I am afraid to look at the scales!
Thanks for the idea though!

i sure would like to see the trap you used a#.0005 :rotf: :rotf: cool bag anyway good job.

Maybe an old percussion cap tin would work , not sure how much char cloth you could get in it though. By the way , thats a pretty nifty rig you made

I found this tin a Wallyworld today it was only $1.08.

It is absolutely perfect for the size of the bag and is about 1" thick. Will work great for charcloth. I will repost after I make it PC.
These are for gift cards, so the person that gets it doesn't feel all they got was a gift card. :shocked2: I thought that was what envelopes were for!

OK here is the tin after burning the paint off and soldering a small piano hinge to the box.

After I got it all cleaned up I sealed it with some Rustolem Clear Sealer to prevent rusting.

I them packed it full of char cloth for fire starting!

This has been a fun project and now I have something to keep all my fire flints, striker and char cloth in.
