ARIZONA - for deer, no restrictions on caliber (muzzleloader or otherwise) but rimfire cartridges not permitted. Bows must be at least 40 lbs with broadheads no less than 7/8". Crossbows must be 125 lbs, bolts at least 16" and broadheads no less than 7/8".

The only mention of a minimum caliber is when using handguns on buffalos: .41 mag or a cartridge length of at least 2". Hmmm, won't find me trying that one.

Rimfires permitted on javelina, turkey, rabbits and squirrels.

In S.C. we have the following guidelines:

Small Game hunters can use ML rifles of .40cal or smaller.

During the Special ML season (about 10 days), and regular gun season, hunters can use rifles that are .36cal or larger and ML shotguns of .20ga or larger.

Cap-n-ball pistols or single shots are not mentioned in our regulations but it specifically states "rifles" of XXcal when talking about "primative" weapons. Inlines are included in the primative weapons catagory, even with scopes and sabot loads :hmm:, because the load from the muzzle and use a seperate cap/primer to ignite the charge.

Oddly enough, Louisiana also had another law which was that the number that was stamped on the barrel was presumed to be the legal caliber of the bore. :hmm:
