Maybe I stepped out of line sending these pictures. If I did I apologize......Hi Bill, see , we have a lot in common.......Love these things. Always spark and never chew up flint....I don't know how I ever got a file into
some of these curves mush less engraving them... Any way, just wanted to say Hi.....You have the real thing
Here is a Algerian Miquelet. I looked up what the stock looked like and I didn't care mush for that. So I designed one for myselfNOT AT ALL, Wulf!
Hello Rick, I don't suppose you have a photo of said gun? A miquelet lock shaped like that would be quite the sight to see. Thanks Bill. These old articles are hard to come by. I printed out each page and will read later. Thanks again.
Interesting that the miquelet lock was generally being developed along side the French flintlock at about the same timeline. In some ways, the Spanish were ahead of the curve in lock development. The miquelet lock being older than many of us thought about 20 years ago.
A collector friend has a Spanish wall type gun using an early miquelet lock with a lock plate shaped like a carry over from the wheellock period.
