Yer right Daryl. As young teens us boy in the rural neighborhood, knew nothing about ballistics. So went about our merry way downing even the odd goose with #8 and 7.5 shot. Yes of course we shot up close and personal, jump shooting the streams and small rivers was what we did.
We didn't know what a decoy was and wouldn't have needed one anyway.
Most nearly all of us guys had a single shot 20, or 16, and the odd 12, and we bought ammo, the cheapest we could get, usually promo ammo at the local hardware store.
When I got the Lee handtool I earned great popularity with the guys as I could supply 20 ga. ammo pretty cheap that had a reputation for being quite good.
Where else could a kid get 20ga. 2 3/4" shotshells loaded the 1.5 OUNCES of 7.5 shot!!! :what:
Like I said we didn't know much in those days, but we sure ate a lot of ducks. :results:
