Most states/regions require the successful completion of a ML Hunter Safety Training Course before a license can be issued. Who knows when and how that got started?

Will probably make you study and recite how the modern rifles and fake powder work.

It's been some years but I was part of a talk group on Hunter Ed. Only thing that was changed up was the addition of a page or two on Muzzleloaders back in the 1990's.
I always spent about an hour discussing them in classes.
Now the NRA is another deal. Anything that will bring a buck IE like special classes was always pushed by those teaching sauce classes

I'm old enough, 43, that I didn't have to take a hunters safety course. My wife, 36, had too.
NH is covered in the required hunter safety course that anyone not grandfathered has to take to get their first hunting license. They do require an archery one with the same requirments
