I went to a blackpowder shoot today and shot horribly because I forgot my wads. I will thus update my prior post, and state that muzzleloading ballistics are indistinguishable from modern breech loading ballistics IF you use the right components.

Perhaps some ML shotguns made as shotguns where cylinder bored but Most such guns are NOT cylinder anything they have various relief boreing mostly towards the muzzle but earlier fowlers had relief boreing to the breach region . A common musket might be true cylinder but no proper shotguns have, Or non that have any pretensions to quality & not just cheap export rubbish . and as for blunderbusses their inclusion is silly cartoon stuff .

hmmm thought the thread was ml shotguns against unmentionables, and the zeus is a 72caliber rifled air shotgun. the primal is a 62cal air shotgun that uses a removable choke. hmmm and neither is poorly made, willing and able to go up against modern shotguns and the muzzleloading ones. but let the zeus bow out with its 2998foot pounds of energy, and the primal is only a modest 420foot pounds of energy fo it wont win. there , do you feel better. are you able to continue ? well it dont matter , be blessed and let your shots strike true. and thats all there is
