Tough call.
Simple research shows the Mm Maslin dated late 1820's, with several available for review.
While the the lock, barrel and hardware of yours shows appropriate age, the pristine condition of the stock and lack of patch box indicates it may well have been or is a nicely done re-stock of the available components.
Re-stocking is an expensive thing to have done, but the result usually doesn't command the same value as that of an original.
Do you have any documentation?,, Verbal History? Or knowledge of the back ground?

Hello ,
Thanks for the response, unfortunately I do not have any documentation and very little history about the rifle itself… It was my late father’s who passed away 1995 and it’s been in my possession ever since… I have to assume that he has inherited it from somebody older then him as well as a few other antique rifles from the early 1800’s.

I see J M on the barrel where I would expect to see the maker's "signature", and I see some lettering opposite the drum on the rear of the barrel. The back action lock suggests post 1850, and iron guard and buttplate seemed to be more of a southern thing. The stock is cracked near the muzzle as is common with old, dried wood. The lack of cap fragment erosion on the rear of barrel around the drum and stock around the lock suggests it wasn't shot or used extensively.

Does that lettering on the rear of the barrel, opposite the drum spell out Dayton O ?

I’m not sure if it’s Dayton, it’s really hard to make out .
This is the best I could do with it
Thanks!
