I have acquired a .44" flintlock pistol made in 1976 by Mofra di Mainardi (Euromanufacture from @1980 now Palmetto.)
The bore has very wide and very shallow grooves and is generally rough. I want to be able to enter flintlock pistol competitions so I need a smoothbore of over 11mm. Is it feasible to have it bored to a smooth .45"?
It does seem to misfire easily with a blocked touch hole so clearing that is part of my loading routine. Is this normal? Powder is PNF2 which is @FFF.
The steel sparks easily with yellow sparks despite it's age. Should the sparks be white?
