Afternoon folks. I've acquired a lee 6 cavity commercial style mold. The mold handles are sold separately and I'm wondering if there are handles other than the Lee's that will fit.

Hmmmm, if the Lee handles will work with other molds, then maybe the handles from those others would work with the Lee blocks???

I get what your sayin,,
But, Nope, it's a one way street.
It's about the "length of grab"(?) The distance between the hinge point and the block pin holes.
The LEE can/will over-reach the needed distance for the "others" and still work,,
The "others" handles,, won't reach far enough to do the 6 cavity mold. Some times you can drill new pin holes further out in the "others" and get them to work,, but most the "others" handles are too good a quality to wreck just to make them a fit for LEE blocks,,

Yes, there are. I have a pair of locking handles that were made by Cabin Tree that fit the Lee 6 cavity, Lyman, NOE and Accurate molds. Jim has since sold his business to stmachining products and they still produce these handles although the new ones I believe are made from aluminum where the old ones were made from steel. I would check with them first to see if they are the same and will work with Lee. Best regards.

A quick search shows the Lee handles in stock several places around $22. A good buddy of mine told me many years ago it was good practice to add a set of the inexpensive Lee handles to an order for other gun stuff every now and then. I did and have a few sets salted down. I think I paid $12 or so for those sets. Pulled one out the other day and put them on a new six-cavity Lee .440 mold. Cast 300 balls this evening before I realized I had done that many! And that was after I did 60 .690 balls. I cast almost 12 pounds of lead in a couple of hours. Those big balls and the six cavity really eats up the lead!

I also cast fishing weights. Start casting 1# trot line weights nd see how fast the lead stores drain away!
For me - casting is addicting, it's one of those things that I really enjoy doing!
