Tanner will make a mold that casts a specified diameter in pure lead. Leave it up to him.

As for what size to choose, determine your bore diameter, the land to land diameter. Then ask for a ball that is 0.010 under that measurement. Choose a patch thickness based on the depth of the grooves and by experimentation. So, if the grooves are 0.015" deep, and you are already 0.010 under (0.005 per side), a patch of about 0.020" (0.015" + 0.005") thick will be very close.
