Been told covering with dry fresh coffee grounds ( fresh) and keeping in a sealed bag or box works. Toss coffee grounds when done. Also works well with old musty books and documents.

Thanks :hatsoff:

I’ve got it covered in lump charcoal in a bag at the moment.

It’s a shooting bag cow leather

I got it packed in lump charcoal now.

I’ll let it set for a week or so and see what happens.

Update: I removed the bag after 8 days in the lump charcoal.

I blew the charcoal dust off the leather with my air compressor both inside and outside of the bag.

Very faint odor still remained .... it’s going back in the charcoal again for another week.

I think that should do it.

Thanks to all for the relplies.

Hey one last thought, if you know anyone who works for a mold remediation company, such as serv pro, service master or any other fire and water damage company, take it to them and have them use an OZONE machine on it. I've used them before, they work pretty good on mold, cigarette smoke and fire damage furniture and the like....
