i have a lee mold that is a 90447 is this a .447 round ball? i looked it up on lees web site didnt find anything there

There are a lot of mold sizes that were carried in the past but are no longer made. I have a double .311, single .350 and single .515 molds made by Lyman that you cannot buy anymore. It wouldn't suprise me to see Lee dropping sizes that didn't sell well.

90447 is a .490 single cavity mold.

remember that Lee has a -.000/+.003 tolerance!

this is a mold proper for a .50 cal barrel.

Brett told you the size. If you have a .50 caliber rifle, start casting. I've been using lee molds for over 25 years. They work great  .

Brett has it right....490 round ball, single cavity. It's listed in the 2007 catalog so is a current mold. I requested a new catalog but they were not in print yet.

Lee makes up special order or limited run molds all the time, if they did not sell as intended etc, they can be often be found here with other surplus items. http://www.leeprecision.com/html/catalog/surplus.html

For a few bucks extra, Lee will make up about any mold you request. (within reason of course) Sometimes groups will place orders for a special order mold, or an individual will order a special mold (s) of his own design for resale. This is a common practice over at http://castboolits.gunloads.com/
