I just saw where Knight's poster boy 'Jim Shockey' has jumped ship and is now a T/C poster boy posing with their Omega inline

You think that is juicy I just read that Olie jumped ship from Blahman to (fill in another builder).

Either case, I have no dog in this fight. I don't buy guns based on reviews. I just buy what I like whoever made it.

Just kidding Olie and Blahman the only reason your names were used is because I saw that new rifle the master Blahman made for you, Exellent!

No, Shockey has traveled the world on Knights expense account taking all sorts of game with the latest scoped Knight inlines...looks like he's now in TC's camp sponsoring their Omega.

The gun you're thinking about that blew up was one of those savage "smokeless muzzleloaders"...I think that guys name was Toby Bridges...

Let's hope that Jim Shockey doesn't try to persuade T/C into dropping all their sidelocks in favor of the newer design ignition systems...

Didn't Shockey have an article a few years back that said the Round ball was an Inferior killing projectile.I can't remember what Mag it was but it seems to me he raised more than a few hackles.
I think Shockey is a D_ckhead.

Right on both counts!!

I have no respect for anyone who only makes canned statements for money.

If someone else changes the amount of money, people like that will say just the opposite the very next day for a bigger paycheck.

Oh yea, that's it. All those guys are so similar it's hard to keep them straight. :winking:
I stoped reading gun magazines 20 years ago....I already know everything anyway. :blah: :winking: :rotf:

Well, if they do, they won't have much to drop...only got a couple models left
:rotf:

Mike,I guess you and I have one thing in common.

It's awfully hard to be humble when you are infallible and a sex symbol to boot.

I know it really bothers me as it must you.

In a similar vein, I don't understand the featured article on the Goex home page, and the Goex qualifying statement about it.

Shockey used to write the Muzzleloader column for Peterson's Hunting magazine. He had a column on selecting the correct bullet for hunting big game. Since he was a shill for Knight at the time, the choice was of course a jacketed bullet with a sabot. He related a tale about a time he was hunting with a "Traditional Muzzleloader Expert", who was armed with a .63 caliber :shocked2: gun. The guy was using a stiff charge and patched round balls, and shot a bear 5 TIMES in the chest and the balls failed to penetrate, allowing the bear to escape. I wondered at the time how they got the bear to stand still long enough to shoot it in the chest 5 times. Even if the guy could reload in 30 seconds, plus the time to aim, the whole sequence would have taken around 3 minutes. Common sense says the bear is long gone after the first shot. Methinks the whole affair is a product of Shockey's imagination, and is total equine fecal matter and El Toro Poo Poo. He stopped being the Muzzleloader editor shortly after that column. :bull:

I have no 'proof' or definitive reasons as to why, but something about Shockey and a few other so called experts seem sleezy to me.

I remember that very article...had the same exact reaction you did...why'd the bear hang around for the next four shots, etc. :shake:

Maybe the bear was having trouble getting off his back from laughing at Jim. :rotf:

I have an article about Shockey hunting in Africa. It has a picture of him with his "muzzleloader" kill, the rifle doesn't have thimbles or a ram rod. I have been wondering if his "records" are staged, killed with a centerfire then pictured with his Knight.

mrfishnhunt,
I would not put it past Knight or
Shokey. I had not heard that he left Knight,
but one thing is for sure, he will go where the
money is. IMHO NRA is also a big Shokey fan.
