Was in a local gunshop the other day, checking out muzzleloading supplies, when I saw a can of this "Shockey's Gold". It was supposed to be a premium pellet for muzzleloading. At $30.95, a can they must really be made of gold. No Thanks!

"Shockey's Gold"

Ain't it amazing what them marketing guys can come up with?? That is why they get paid "the big bucks."

It's even more amazing that some poor ignorant folks will actually buy it and be happy with their purchase. That is why they don't have any bucks. :hmm:

At the time of Shockys article in Peterson's, I was a subscriber. I cancelled right away, and told them why. I find the internet a better source of info than the gun rags.

Shoot, another role model out the window :( . What's a young feller to do these days?

Seriously, I always credited T/C with better taste. Seems like he woulda' done T/C more good where he was...burnin' up Knight's money and tarnishing their image. Maybe Knight wised up.

He does seem a bit sleazy, about one step up from a rapper. There's a thought, turn the rapper crowd onto muzzleloading. Would certainly make their drive-bys more sporting :shake:

No more eggnog for me.
Bob

It wasn't Shockey saying the PRB was inferior it was Toby Bridges in Deer and Deer Hunting magazine. Shockey is "the man" for North American Hunting Club.

Bridges was recent...Shockey's was a couple years ago

Bridges and Wakeman were on the roundball bashing wagon a little while back. Actually, several of the regular posters at HuntAmerica were, and Wakeman was one of them then. The Shockey guy told a story of a guy shooting a bear and then having to shoot it over and over again to kill it, blaming that on roundball. I could have killed it faster with a 22 from Shockey's description of the event. It was pure BS when it was published, and as several folks have stated, sounded bogus from the very first. Several regular online posters have attacked roundball but they all sell inlines or work for inline gun companies. Now, I wonder why they would attack roundball?
