I figured we could use a thread dedicated to general discussion for members to ask questions and provide input regarding the Monthly Postal Shoot.

I will kick things of by inviting shooters to suggest targets for future months. I’ve got the November 2020 target lined up with another in mind for December.

If anyone has a target they would like to see, don’t be shy, and forward your suggestion to me. Who knows, maybe I’ll push the targets I have in mind into another month.

✂Note: Our members have demonstrated that they have proficient artistic ability to construct their own target. I simply ask that if a suggested target needs to be made, make sure it can be done with materials everyone has readily available and can be mailed in a standard envelope.

How about a standard sheet of copier paper with an 'X' drawn from corner to corner. Then allow participants to draw their own version of whatever the theme is for that month on the page with say, a 5" circle surrounding the intersection of the 'X'. The 'X' and the circle must be darker (and wide enough to see clearly) than the image so as to stand out as the target goals, but people could come up with some images worth replicating, I bet!

Okay. Put the thumb tack in the center of a fairly standard 1"? black bull. 10 extra points if you can "drive the tack home". o_O
We kill time up this way trying to hit nickels taped to the bull at 35 yards. More fun than shooting plain paper.

How about a bull the size of a tack head? Many folk on here claim to own a tack driver. Lets see it. :p
That's where you need a high visibility spotter target. You establish a group on the spotter target. Put the center of the group on the spotter target on the tack. Take your shot at the spotter target and hope that you keep hitting to center.

Then how come you aren't winning the postal matches?Anybody that shoots an Indian Head nickel isn't right.Go figure.

How about a "Know your Limits" target? The smaller the target the more points its worth High score wins.

Do a pyramid divided into sections parallel with the base. Small section at the top 10pts. Next down 9 pts or so. To the base section being the lowest . Top section about 1/2 inch tall. No negative sections or maybe put some in.
