Howdy all, just wanted to share a few photos of some moose jerky my lady and I are dehydrating in a few days after it soaks! Did a homemade teriyaki, sesame seed, sea salt and garlic, and the small batch is a marinade that I like to call “HOT AS HELL” haha Makes my mouth water already. Any of you guys have some recipes for the next batch of moose meat and my recent red stag kill? The .58 cal jaeger rifle is getting quite a few marks on the stock now 👍🏻. Please share some of your favorite recipes for jerky. Making sausage soon with the new meat grinder.

I have to agree with andy52, I like salt, pepper and sometimes a little jalapeno. I grind mine up and mix it....then let it sit in the fridge for overnight. I then put it into a jerky gun and spread it out into the dehydrator. I've made it this way for a lot of years and end up having to give a bunch of it away as friends figure out I have another bunch made up !!!

I’ve never seen it ground and I’ve never seen a jerky gun. INTERESTING!

Ground up is a lot easier to prepare and easier to eat when it's done. You do use a sort of caulking gun type of apparatus .....just squeeze it out onto the dehydrator and let it sit there for 6 to 8 hours and its a done deal.

I'm confused. How is something you have to put through the seasoning/brining process, just like sliced jerky, but then also have to,,,,, grind, put in an extrusions device, extrude, dry like regular jerky, but then also have to clean up the extra equipment,,,,, "easier to prepare"????

I get that it is easier to eat. Not as tough or dry, but not as trail worthy either.

Can I get an OHHHH YEAHHHH. Doing my “hot as hell” batch tonight. Daisy and River seem to think this is for them…
Only 15 lbs of cut meat left to dehydrate 😅

I'm sure my .72 Cal. jaeger is capable of handling any moose even up close a personal.;)
Jaegers for life brotha! I have a .58 jaeger rifle with quite a few marks carved in the stock 👍🏻

All good friend. What animals have you harvested with your jaeger lately? I just got back from a red stag and feral hog hunt
