I want the best nipples for my snub nose 1860 pietta. I'm going to try and make the most reliable yet fastest rounds. I also want both #10 and # 11 caps so I can shoot according to availability.

What are the best nipples in 10 and 11 for my 1860 snub nose Pietta? Where do I get them? Do I antiseize them upon installation?

Treso Ampco nipples are pretty much the most popular.
Most black powder shooting suppliers have them. Track of the wolf, etc. I always use a bit of breech plug grease or similar on the threads.

I have slix on 2 1858's 2 1860's and 1 1851. All pietta except 1 1858 is a uberti SS. I have no complaints and trust these revolvers to fire everytime with my life. They fit cci and remington and rws caps. All of em fit like a glove.

I ordered a set of slixshots today with the slixshot nipple wrench. I will try the Treso Ampco at a later date. Why do the slixshot have holes on the side of the nipples. To me it looks like it would force gas to the side and spread apart the cap. We will see I guess.
Also ordered some 1075/#11 magnum caps for way too much money but I do want to try them so I had to pay.
Thanks for the information.

Its a gas release that also aides in better ignition. You will not regret your purchase. Good job brother
