Another Welcome from Texas!
My forefathers lived in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and participated with the 1st Rockbridge Artillery in the War of Northern Aggression. One was killed at Winchester.
Also a reenactor, I can galvanize, but my favorite is Confederate Artillery (see my photo).
You've found a place where lots of us trade stories and experiences.
You're invited to share yours, too!

I'm a Civil War reenactor, both Reb and Yank. Also a shooter of any weapon I can get my hands on at the range. 20 plus year Virginia Private Security Firearms Instructor (1990 to 2012).
Welcome from a former CW reenactor/living historian. Lived in NoVA for 35 years before moving back out west in 2012. Did both Confederate and Union.

My Rev War regiment during the Bi-Cen was a dual one: 43rd Foot British & 2nd PA American. I always found the Civil War to be a little too "modern" for re-enacting; I like the 18th C. flint era! But good for your dual impressions! I was one of the 1st baby-boomers greatly influenced by the Civil War Centennial! It was before 'political correctness' so both the North AND South were commemorated! Thanks for posting.
