movie last of the mohicans

i made a bunch of stuff for this movie it was filmed in my area i made $22000 in three months i have some pictures if i wasnt such a computer dope i would put them on here any advice? i made chairs the tables and benchs in the cabin scene i even set fire to that feller and old mann fired me twice!! man i had a good time!! i did a rush job making a campaign desk and was told to get there by six am i had two days to make it got down there about five thirty guy says take it up to the back of the fort and see the guy got up there and the back of the fort which wasnt filmed looked like a chinese construction site guy says hurry up and take it up there so i climbed up some rickty ladders and got to the top guys says go thru that door i quick goes thru the door where they were in the middle of the shooting ol mann screams who the !#$@% are you your fired !! so i turned with the desk still on my shoulder and precended to get gone he says thats my desk i said no it aint im fired more cussing ensued i was rehired!!

That movie the Patriot and Jeremiah Johnson are the only movies I actually went out and bought.

Like Jeremiah Johnson, there are some great lines.

I have watched three separate Last of the Mohicans movies. The one with Lewis if indeed great.

I'm currently watching the 1970's multi episode version that appeared on Masterpiece Theatre. Although it lacks the special effects and lavish budget of the recent Hollywood production, it's truer to the book and I am enjoying it an episode each evening. That's the way it was meant to be viewed with the ending of each episode leaving you in anticipation of the next. All British cast, none of whom I am familiar with, but, a great version of the classic and well worth adding to one's library.

whats wierd about that movie is they filmed enuff footage for three movies they filmed for weeks all nite long i would get there every morning at daybreak and collect all the broke stuff and orders for new things to make nearly every morning there wolud be brown bess with there bayonet lug broke off and the actors and extra would be exhausted ol mann went way over budget fox movies sent in people to control cost he didnt like that my final fireing was i got crossways with russell means what a jerk! i give him a thumb *** to the kidney the crew told me he passed blood for three days they all patted me on the back that madilen stowe was one sexy woman what ever happened to her ?

I did not know Means. But I was in SD when he was involved with AIM. The American Indian Movement caused some real problems in the 1960s and 1970s.
Where did all this movie making take place. It seems it was in one of the eastern states. Most American movies are made in Canada.

it was made here in western nc the fort was at lake james the prop department was in asheville down by the river in an old warehouse the head office was on pack square the final scene where they jump off was at chimney rock park we've had quite a few movies filmed here but none in awhile and the reason i said filming was weird was because thats what the crew told me most of them had just filmed mississippi burning and were professinal he micheal mann also did something they thought was strange instead of dressing only that part of the set that was to be filmed he would dress an entire room for example then when he showed up on the set he would decide which way to film it this caused a lot of expence which was good for me because i made more mony i made a $5000 sleigh bed for the love scene that wasnt used or was cut!! but i had a good time by the way i am mostly tuscaroura indian altouogh some say we're lumbee your freind charly

The Mann produced version, 1999, is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Just a great film.

The Mohicans was a great movie- I worked for Universal Studios back in the Seventies on JAWS 2. It was work but a lot of fun. Roy Schieder was a classic man- and polite as he could be. My ole friend John Bivins made 3 rifles for Mohicans that I furnished the wood for, I was at John's home when they were finished - I said John I want my wood back and he laughed, he told me he got $15,000. per rifle, the rifles were so fine Mann took all 3 home with him and got Wayne Watson to make the others in a hurry. When the Movie was finished there was a slae of Props and Wardobe items- I obtained one of the Long Hunter Shirts that daniel Day Lewis wore in filming. It looks 18th century and I still wear it at reenactments. We need another good Movie I have about worn mine out. TGP

I was just reading about the rifles Bivins made in a 1993 issue of Dixie Gun Works magazine. The whole article was on flintlocks in movies.

I heard that they spent so much time filming at night that during one night shoot Mann kept yelling for someone to turn off that big orange light. One of the assistant directors replied "michael, that's the sun" :haha:

Overall it is a real action packed movie with lot's of beautiful country.I always notice the part about the silk patch material , any thoughts?
