Got an Uberti steel frame Colt Navy for Christmas and it looks like a promising shooter. What is the lubricant of choice for the moving parts (not chambers but the cylinder/arbor etc)? I use gun oil and a touch of silicone grease in my SAA, but that uses smokeless cartridges and not loose black powder. Could I use the silicone grease for the larger moving parts and regular gun oil on the small stuff for this Navy too?

In my opinion grease should be on the bolt leg and hammer cam, main spring /hammer interface if not roller is present, hand and ratchet interface and base pin.
The rest is fine with a good gun oil.
Also, if the gun is going to be put a way for an undetermined amount of time it needs to be completely broken down, cleaned and relubed. MD

Use LubriPlate (or equivalent White Lithium Grease) on the parts that would wear (arbor, hammer can, trigger sear) and Rem Oil on the other parts.

I use light grease on the internals as has been suggested by others. For the arbor, I like Mobil 1 Synthetic grease. Seems to last longer and prevent cylinder binding for extended shooting before having to clean and re-lube. A tube will last forever! Well, at least several years.
