I just received a .45 cal. Mowrey from an auction.
This is # 2 Mowrey rifle for me, the first is .40 cal, great shooter.
Wherever they obtain their wood,I wish I could find a pile of it, the figure in the maple is something to admire.
My question is , where can I find spare parts, for these actions?
I have had no problems, but I would like secure a few spare parts.
I hope someone can suggest a supplier.
Best Regards
Old Ford

I have a 50 that is a 198 of 500 .It has a premium cherry stock and the fancy butt plate that starts with a s, can't spell it. It is suppose to shoot 125gr powder and not strip the RB . It has a 1-60 hand cut gain twist barrel. Mine was made in Oney, Texas. It is a Bicentennial model. I bought it at a gun at auction. It has a paper with it. I worked the trigger over,it was 30lbs pull,no bs, got it down to 9. Mine dosen't have the screw to light the pull. It was made to be a wall hanger. I used 60gr 2ff&RB killed a ground hog, then put it a way. It would make agood match rifle if had a good trigger as it weights 10lbs,has the right feel. The butt plate is like the ones on match rifles, big fancy brass curl. Never had to get any parts, But Deer Creek was selling them a while back along with underhammers, but think they quit? Dilly

The Olney, Texas made rifles are fine shooters. The rifle with the Sheutzen style butt plate is not a wall-hanger, it is a good hunting and target rifle. A gunsmith should be able to ease that trigger a bit.

Deer Creek has bought the original Mowery Co. as well as Ethan Allen and as far as I know still has parts for both.

I purchased a Texas Mowry off the classified ads here, (anyone remember them?) last year. Some of the screws were buggered and the rifle was missing a rammer pipe. Called Deer Creek and they had all the parts needed and at a reasonable cost.
