Just got back from the Lancaster County Longrifles event at Muddy Run Prk and as always had a great time. It was a mite chilly a couple nights n rained cats n dogs early in the week but thats to be expected at the Muddy Run event. They had and overnight trek event that seemed to go over well and looks like it will be included again next year. There were several gents from the board here that went on the trek n attended the event that I was able to meet n everyone is a rite fine skinner in my book n worth their salt on the trail. Wild Eagle introduced himself(he helped me obtain a movie I was looking for) and Trapper n Frosty came by to say Hi! as well as others (I'm lousey with names)whos names escape me at the moment. There was plenty of shooting and a good archery range set up as well as hawk n knife compititions all week long. They had good seminars that covered a wide range of topics and just plain good living, the smells of all the different foods being prepared and drink to go with it made yer mouth water. Being a half a@@ed blanket trader I did better then expected and was most pleased with things the way they are.All n All it was a "shinen time" had by all who attended. If yer interested in next year, keep an eye on the web site Lancastercountylongrifles.org for next years info. Its always this time of year and the site at Muddy Run is just plain beautiful. Take care YMHS Birdman

Hello Birdman,
Had a great time at muddy run. Was nice to finaly meet someone from the forum. The treck was fun, got a little cold that night though. You will really learn a lot about your gear. Like making sure that you have enough blankets to keep you warm and that narrow straps on stuff is no good, the wider the better. but all in all it was Shinin times.

Hi ho fellow skinners, Twas a wonderful week indeed, well almost perfect. The weather cooperated, got to put some faces to names, good eats, and fine spirits. I had the honor of introducing a gentleman to the "vous" and he says he is "HOOKED" ( heh heh heh ) Even had some time to make smoke. The only down side to the week was I had to make a trip to the ER friday night. It seems I had a date with a pesky little kidney stone!! Now I'm not cherry to pain boy's BUT let me humbly say IT HURTS LIKE W...ell you get the idea. I was horizontal all day sat. and was just able to drive home sun. Well a week later after being well medicated, and drinking enough water to float the titanic, the little(and I mean little)bugger has emerged and I'm feeling MUCH BETTER now. It's hard to believe that something the size of a grain of sand can cause that much discomfort, ahhh heck I meant PAIN. The first part of the week was great and I'd do it again, the quality of people is outstanding. The prizes were great, plenty of every thing to do, anyone who shoots or camps should put this event on their calendar, not to mention the setting ... water, trees, clearings, a beautiful setting indeed.Well enough for now, I'm feeling better and I've got this smooth rifle to work on, take care of your top knot and watch your back trail.
