Hello all!!

For anyone near the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia/Southern Maryland area looking to see some Brown Bess, Charleville, Jaegers and Lancaster rifles (not to mention full up cannon) in action, please consider stopping by Mt Vernon on the 4th of July!

Our Revolutionary War regiment, the 1st Virginia, will be "taking over" the estate, establishing checkpoints, roving patrols, guarding the mansion, tomb guards, and establishing a military camp at the base of the bowling green. Festivities start of 0945 with General Washington reviewing the troops, with myriad activities after that until 1 p.m., when the regiment will form up for a reading of the Declaration of Independence and cannon/musket/rifle firing demonstrations.

Please come out and share in the festivities!!
