Muzzle crowning

I have recently been playing around with re crowning some of my modern unmentionables with great success in improving accuracy. I use a brass tapered tool that fits in the bore with valve grinding compound and spin the tool in a drill and cut a new crown. This for me has improved accuracy across the board.

I’m considering trying this out on some of my traditional m/l. Have any of you ever tried this?

Joe Wood sells a popular tool spun from brass on his lathe for coning, not sure if anyone does one for crowns:

I don’t want to cone my barrels, but I suspect that people reporting accuracy improvements after coning are from the work near the muzzle.
